Sidestreet Reny... "Original Urban Roots 'N' Blues"

Grainy, Lovely and ON.......... "Come follow we" is the sound of your heart listening to Sidestreet Reny, it's a joyful thing. I would like to say that it is almost like listening to a "Roots- Reggae-Blues-Hop- Pied-Piper!"  I can't stop moving and smiling no matter what I do. Although not all the songs are total "Party Time", they still get you moving! One moment, you find yourself  "a walk in rollin' " down in Yard...the next sitting on a porch in Louisiana, singing and dancing along to a raspy, grainy...heart filled voice, with  "Angelically" strong harmonies. Keeping to the grove with the "good bread" flowing all around! So come on y’all let's get fed with a little Sidestreet Reny! Aunt Kitty: So Reny and Bell, you have been working together about 16 years now doing this wonderful music. Please talk to the readers about the beginning process and did you always have your current sound?

The Original Rock Star! "THE Dubber"

The Room is full of Knotty’s and Ital Sista's, Wall Street Bankers and Main Stream Hipster's getting ready for some "Roots-Reggae-Rock-and-Blues." Crossing the restrictions of mainstream music is hard, if you want to be part of the "in crowd."  However, I think, “THE Dubber" has it right...why not make the in-crowd wanna be you! When you flow with ease and effortless grace like "THE Dubber" it comes out like warm bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar, the kind that your mother used to make , while sprinkling a lil' extra love on top! This is what I said to myself when I first heard Wendell " THE Dubber" on Riyen Roots playlist on YouTube. "With a Feeling" is the song that captured my attention. Moreover, each song I hear keeps me looking out for more! Aunt Kitty:  What transitions have taken place on your 30-year journey, while cultivating your music? THE Dubber:  Thinking back over my 30-year journey, I hav

If you listen closely, you can hear the boats paddling up to the Bayou Bar, and the steady Rhythmic Blues of the  RR&TFTB  playing in the background. In my written interview with Riyen, I aske

David A. Rice" Vocal & Visual Distingue"

"Mesdames et Messieurs  Senoras y Senores,  Ladies and Gentlemen." May I have the pleasure of presenting: Mr. David A. Rice  "A Man With Multi Talents and Extraordinary Vision." " To visualize or not to visualize" that is the question;  for if you step into the warm and intelligent presence of  David A. Rice,  "New Vizions by David"   this is the journey and confirmation you will be making with a self realization apprentice-master. The focus of   Nuvizions , is to help recreate and reorganize, to assimilate the old or do away with it, bringing out your true inner self. If it be to redesign an interior or to redirect or rebirth your wardrobe and personal style; to better express your personality or to help a performer better discover their   "Je Nous Se Qua"    and how to work the ( I don't know) into true   "Ellegance Distinguee"   a better 'vizionist' could not be found! Niecy- D "Pioneer of Superwomen DJ's!"

Can I get a ( wip...wiza'...zza'....whip'...whip.... this'scratch... and a hit me!) Niecy-D! Yes!  and Yes again. Today's class will focus on the self perfection and story of a Mega-Love Warrior-Pioneer-"DJ' Queen Niecy- D," or as I used to call her "Miss Spinnfabulous." Niecy -D, got her start by carefully watching the back and forth hand play, the spin-backs, and still keeping the beat, of older DJ's at parties she would attend growing up. She was getting hooked on her future-"Niecy" and was working on being Nicey-D... every move that was made was etched on her "DJ' Blue Print" driving her to her now thriving business. Before long, Niecy had her own equipment and began practicing " All of the Time."   In her written interview, She said:  " There was always a party at my Crib." She goes on to talk about forming her own all female crew called  "Brown Sugar Crew"  this is

J Pierre Cornell "Ladies and Gentlemen start your Smizing"

To say it simple, not many people can put together wonderful talent and get them to work. This being said, my next person of "blog note" is working on being the Ring Master in   Circ-De-J-Pierre Cornell;  in our phone conversation before our written interview, I noticed that he had a lot of compartmentalizing to do. Whom, you speak with and how you come across, is very important in this wonderful world of entertainment. Let’s just say, keeping it real won't be a problem for this young Entrepreneur. J Pierre has a certain child like quality that could catch you off guard. I think this lends to how he comes across in his art form pure and fun. He got his start in fashion, as a Model, after graduating from   Douglas Anderson High School of the Arts . What started out as a hobby while he working with   Jon Casablancas   in Jacksonville, Florida, has now brought Cornell to his status as a Model and Talent Manager, as well as Fashion and Celebrity photographer. Kyle Jason "Soul School Is In Session"

As a little child, you hear music and voices; words and images pass in front of your vision, you sometimes get it, and you sometimes don't! Have you ever looked back at your drawings as a child, all clumsy and awkward, but by God- you were gonna be a Fireman! And in 15 years, you hear, welcome to " Wall street!" Well, the person in this blog had it indelibly stamped on his Soul... that he would be a constant-self-aware-ever growing-entertainer!  And, Kyle Jason, is! So with out further  a due '  "Soul School Is In Session." Kyle Jason,  is a  consummate-  Singer/ Songwriter/ Performer/Actor/Radio Personality and did I mention...he is a Funkateer! "P Funk" embraced and welcomed Kyle as a Funkateer in 1996 when he opened for "P Funk The Return Of The Mothership Tour." George calls him nephew and Bootsy calls him Lil' Brugh. They embraced Kyle from the very start.  His story is not unlike other singer/ songwriter/ performers; K

Ernie Paniccioli " The Godfather of Hip Hop Photography"

With the skill of many years of experience this man navigates around the unsound foundation of the Industry of Hip Hop and Entertainment, plucking out the coal and making diamonds. Who do I speak of "Ernie Paniccioli" or as I like to call him "Uncle Ernie". He is not my blood uncle, but he is my teacher of the spirit which makes him family! Ernie, brings topic's to the forefront of whatever he is doing, putting the   "Truth"   up on the table and then telling his children, look can you see what I have set out before you....these topic's are sometimes unsettling sometimes raw and unforgiving but always true.  Before I took the journey of writing about this accomplished  Photographer/ Artist / Public Speaker, Elder and close friend of mine; I had to clear my heart of all the anger I had, I purged myself because I wanted to write something light and fun...but how can I when the man himself is heavy and full of wisdom!  The anger I had was toward

Mr. Fred Meltzer "Doing what he loves"

I had the pleasure of becoming "Facebook friends" with Mr. Meltzer, I would say about a year and a half ago! I had just moved to Newberry, South Carolina and I wanted to meet new people in music and the arts so a friend of mine started suggesting people to me... of course none of the suggested people ever work out; however, the happenstances' work out just fine, Mr. Fred Meltzer  is a happy-happenstance. I would keep up with him on Reverbnation and look up any new and interesting songs he might be playing, I listened to the songs, some reminded me of late 80's music complete with "Bowie'esque" phrasing, some can give you the feel of "Blues Travelers- meets-Bruce Springsteen." He can give you some fun and games music like his "I got a puppy and some Blues" and then he can give you something to think about like his song   "Love Plane." All and all his music is a good listen.  Fred Started playing piano at he age

Donna Walker of J-Walk Productions " The Only Profit is Love and Sharing"

Donna Walker of J-Walk Productions has had a road to travel. J-Walk Productions, was created after Donna went through a harrowing experience with her son when he was around 2 years old. She found that Organizations such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation helped keep her and her son on point and focused through out his healing proccess. I am pleased to say, her son has grown up to be, a wonderful, and lovely young man, and the image of vibrant health. As she approched the idea of watching her son grow and heal and become a talented artist who now performs with J-Walk productions; Donna, realized that now more than ever her dicission to create a venue that  not only helps the less fortunate, but gives young people the opportunity to showcase their talent and give back to the community, is the right thing to do.  J-Walk Productions is a non-profit organiztion that helps build community relationships and values through fundraising; "Our events not only support these outstanding org

Ge' ne Clem Photography "To conjure the Classic"

Recently, I've had the brilliant opportunity of sharing information and conversation with Mr. Ge'ne Clem, Ge'ne is originally from Trinidad and Tobago; while attending school in Trinidad at (Vessigny Secondary School) he was taught the beauty of color through a vast number of mediums. Soon this information would lend balance and grace to his work in so many ways. This work will transform  him into the man he is today, from the accidental Hairstylist in Trinidad to the self actualized  "Ge'ne Clem Photographer." As I said Clem started out as a hairdresser in Triny' and soon moved to Brooklyn, New York. He spent 20 plus years working as a hairstylist;   he was owner of "Trenz Hair Salon" but in 2007, Clem retired from the business and moved to Atlanta. In late fall of 2009, Ge'ne decided to take his retirement seriously by looking into a passion of his, Photography. Ge'ne was fortunate to become close friends with "Stephe

Noret Bazemore of " Bella Latina Cakes"

What can I say, have you ever had an emotional attachment to food? I mean one of those," look at that!" -- "you can't eat that it is too pretty!"  type of food attachment.  This is  how I have come to see the cakes made by one of Freeport, Long Island NY's premier cake designers; Noret Bazemore of "Bella Latina Cakes." She has been seriously baking since 2003, however she had a  two year stint away from her art from 2006 to 2008. Mamacita Noret, comes from a long line of bakers she is now the fourth generation " baby dassa'  whole latta' sugar knowledge."   The name was sort of an accident in truth it connects her to her culture, she chose to brandish herself on Facebook as  "Noret Caking-Mamacita Bazmore," because she wanted to be original-clever-catchy... the other page name connects her culturally as well "Bella Latina Cakes;" when contacting her to create one of her awesome delectable delights
